A few words about the Germesdorfer cherry variety

Germesdorfer is a classic cherry variety harvested in the mid-late season.

As a tree, it has semi-erect behavior and medium to strong growth. It is recommended to graft Germesdorfer with low-growth rootstocks such as Gizela 6 for single-axis systems and Maxma-14 for vase-shape low height systems.

Its flowering is late and is therefore suitable for difficult and mountainous areas with late frosts. It is not a self-fertile variety and it is necessary to mix it in planting with the appropriate pollinators.

Germsdorfer’s fruit is heart-shaped and medium to small in size. The size of the fruit is satisfactory (28mm) and has a very good response to the market. Its flesh is crisp with a sweet, sub-acidic taste and red coloration. Externally, the fruit has a bright red color when it is ready to be harvested. Harvesting this variety is quite easy due to the long stem.
