Nelson apricot is a self-fertile variety that is harvested late in the season.

It originates from the varieties improvement program of the French company PSB based in Murcia, Spain. It has strong growth as a tree and semi-open behavior.

It has late flowering (same time as Bergeron), very good flower quality, high fruit production and consequently production. In the experimental field of PSB, production yields up to 50 to 60 tonnes per hectare. The training system of this experimental field is”Spanish Shrub”, with planting distances of 2.5 x 5 and tree height of 2.5 meters.

Nelson’s fruit matures late, 2-3 days after Farbaly. It has an oval shape and very good fruit hardness. It does not show cracking of fruit due to rain.

The size of the fruit even with minimal thinning remains 2A. Its taste is very good, aromatic and quite superior to varieties maturing at the same time. It stays strong in the tree for several days after its full maturation.
