A few words about the Ferraduel almond variety
Category : ALMONDS
Ferraduel (FERADUEL) is a classic almond variety that is mainly used as a pollinator variety.
It comes from the research program of the French Institute for Invertebrate Enhancement INRA.
As a tree, it has open behavior and intense lateral vegetation. It has intense vigor in irrigated areas and middle vigor in dry areas.
Ferraduel has a late flowering (compared to classical varieties) and is not self-fertile. It also has a degree of resistance to cold.
The fruit has a hard shell, long and wide shape. The kernel to nut ratio ranges from26-28% and does not show “double nut”. It matures relatively late and has good yields in irrigated fields. Ferranduel is at some degree an alternate-bearing variety.
