Characteristics
Tree and Fruit characteristicsPrimidi apricot is an early harvested self-fertile variety.
It originates from the varieties improvement program of the French company NEWCOT and is published in Europe by the French company IPS.
The tree has semi-open behavior and average-low growth. It mainly sets fruit in short and medium-sized 2-year-old branches.
It blooms in the middle season and its flowering is rich. Production of Primidi is very large every year even when the climate conditions during flowering are not good.
The fruit has a large size (AA / AAA) and is oval-elongated-shaped. It has a red blush on 30% of the skin, especially in places where there is abundant solar radiation. The firmness of the flesh is very good.
The flavor is very good, aromatic and much better than other varieties that are harvested at the same time. Brix 14/15.
One more positive characteristic of this variety is that over the last four (4) years tested in Greece, there have been no problems of sensitivity to PPV. It has no early blooming and is therefore ideal for areas with late frosts.
